1st Folding Sliding Doors were at the Ideal Home Show London again this year, and it was a busy couple of weeks! The stand was a huge success. On display, we had a virtually frameless glass pyramid, fully functioning French doors with frameless reinforced glass balustrade with top hung window and fixed frame, three-door bi-fold doors and Elegant 20mm Virtually Frameless Sliding Door on a double track.
Kensington Olympia, in its self, is HUGE. You could spend the entire day there and still feel like you only scratched the surface. However located right next to the entrance was 1st Folding talking to keen shoppers and developers that needed our expert advice right away!
1) Easislide three door bifold door – Our original and one of the most popular products on display, with colour matched handles, hinges and manual internal blinds for privacy. When Easislide system is demonstrated, they all stop and stare at just how much space you have!
2) French Doors and Virtually Frameless Glass Balustrade – A magical mystery, the frameless glass system was the new kid on the block with manufacturing brilliance. The glass is laminated and held in place by aluminium couplers, the entire system is fitted to the building for additional stability and with no frame interrupting the glass. 3) Electric opening skylight and Frameless glass Pyramid – Both Manufactured at our Hampshire factory, these two products were a big hit. The craftsmanship of the virtually frameless glass pyramid uniquely using structural silicone to join the glass units, to the hypnotising movement of the opening lightwell both gained much interest and indeed showed the spectators how you could make your new or existing roof look unique from the rest. 4) Finally, The main Event – Virtually Frameless 20mm Sliding Door.
Some products carry style and design flair very well and break the mould; the 20mm slider is one of those products. Owners of this product can show off a very stylish and minimalistic aluminium door in their home. With 20mm sightlines, the door is 85% glass, and the rest is minimal aluminium frame. We stock metal in two colours; Black 9005 and anthracite 7016 and delivery of these are between three to four weeks, other colours can be produced with a small surcharge with lead times of six to eight weeks. Heights are achievable up to 3m and widths per panel up to 2.2m. A beautiful door with great design opportunities. As you walk around the Ideal Home Show, you will start to think, I do need that space saver coat hanger thingamajig? and you will lurk in the various showrooms daydreaming that this could be in your home, but that is the fun in going to an expo like this.
