Bay windows: perfect for your period property that needs modernising
A typical period property, had its wooden windows changed to U-PVC a few years ago. We have now been called in to modernise the property to add our new aluminium windows; the project is being done bay-by-bay over two years, we have started with the upstairs bedroom on the right where we have removed all the transom bars to allow more light into the room. We have also installed manual privacy blinds into the glass, all parts of the bay window are dummy vented so you can not tell which ones open and which windows do not, this allows for the heads of the window to line up.
Since our inauguration in April 2004, the company has only used toughened safety glass. For the last 12 years, all our glass has had a minimum of 1.0 u-value which is the highest standard specification in the UK. When choosing our side hung windows its good to note that they can go up to 1.8m in height and 1.0m wide if required
The remaining windows will be done over the next two years, one bay at a time, not all projects need to be done at once, and this allows for less disruption to the house at the same time.
